Effects of incoporation amounts of Chinese milk vetch on nutrient uptake and yield of single cropping late rice

  • A field experiment was conducted to explore effects of different application rates of Chinese milk vetch on nutrient uptakes, nutrient use efficiencies, and yields of single cropping late rice and to determine the optimal application rate of fresh Chinese milk vetch in the Jiangtang Agricultural Experiment Station, Jinhua city, Zhejiang province in 2011-2012. There were six treatments, CK (no fertilizers), CF (conventional fertilization), and 4 levels (30, 60, 90, and 120 t/ha) of Chinese milk vetch. Experimental results show that in all the treatments of application of Chinese milk vetch, the maximum increases of N, P and K uptakes by rice plants, agronomic use efficiencies of N, P and K, and rice grain yields are obtained from the treatment with 60 t/ha fresh Chinese milk vetch. Compared with CK, the applications of chemical fertilizers and the incoporation of Chinese milk vetch increase rice grain yields by 11.8% and 7.4%-13.5%, respectively. In the cropping system of Chinese milk vetch\|single cropping late rice, Chinese milk vetch turned into the soil before the planting of rice seedlings will not result in the runt seedling, leading to a higher yield.
