Effects of low P stress on growth and P nutrition of soybean in solution culture and its correlation with P efficiency of soybean in pot test

  • Growth and P nutrition of 19 soybean genotypes, characteristics of phosphorus efficiency of which were assessed using pot experiment and field test , were conducted by non phosphorus (P0, 0mg/kg) and low phosphorus(P1, 0 1mg/kg)hydroponics The correlation among characteristics of phosphorus efficiency in soil pots , characteristics of phosphorus nutrition in solution culture and some seed traits were also carried out The results are as follows:1) The ability of different soybean genotypes to accumulate soluble phosphorus from low phosphorus solution in hydroponics is different The amount of net plant phosphorus uptake is about 5%~80% of that of seed phosphorus content 2) The ability of utilizing soil phosphorus is different from that of utilizing soluble phosphorus in solution among some soybean genotypes 3) The amount of net plant fresh biomass is 17.79%~99.09% of that of plant fresh biomass in P0 solution culture; The amount of net plant dry biomass is 15.64%~116.67% of that of plant dry biomass in P0 solution culture 4) There are significantly or very significantly positive correlation between relative value plant phosphorus efficiency ratio of soybean genotypes under pot test and the values of seed weight; dry and fresh biomass of shoot or plant; and plant phosphorus efficiency ratio in P0 or P1 treatment
