Effects of different rates of nitrogen and potash on yield and quality of cabbage

  • The field trials were conducted to study the effect of different N and K rates on the yield and quality of cabbage(Brassica oleracea var. capitata). The results indicated that the N, K and their proper combined application could significantly increase the cabbage yield and nutrient utilization efficiency. K fertilizer could remarkably increase the content of Vc and sugar content and alleviate unfavorably effect of unsuitable N application. Nitrogen could increase the content of amino acid, N and K increased nutritional value of essential amino acid. The Vc and sugar contents were negative correlation with N content in cabbage head, and positively with K content. The adequate K supply and optimum N and K combination could ensure the high-quality and high-yield production of vegetables.
