Research on relationship between soil enzyme activities and soil fertility

  • The soil enzyme activities and nutrient content were assayed in long-term fertilizing soil samples. The results obtained by the correlation, path and principal component analysis showed that soil urease and alkaline phosphatase activities could be as a comprehensive index of soil fertility, and their enzyme activities are affected by soil chemical properties and other enzymes. Soil fertility could be evaluated objectively by principal component analysis.
