Effect of drip nitrogen fertigation on growth of maize

Water and nutrient are the two key inputs in agriculture,but their use efficiency is low and their injudicious use leads to environmental degradation.Fertigation has some special advantages in irrigation-agriculture since it provides the most effective way of supplying nutrients to the plant roots.The main objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of two different N application methods(Drip N fertigation and traditional base application N)with different nitrogen fertilizers(urea,ammonium nitrate,calcium nitrate,and ammonium sulphate).The results obtained were as follows: compared with traditional way,drip N fertigation could significantly increase the nitrogen use efficiency 8.75%21.50% for different fertilizer.Nitrogen use efficiency between different nitrogen fertilizers also showed a significant difference,among which calcium nitrate had the lowest N use efficiency
