Absorption, accumulation and allocation of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium of jerusalem artichoke

  • In order to understand the absorption and distribution patterns of major nutrient elements in jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus L.), a field experiment was carried out to study on nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in each organ throughout the growing period of jerusalem artichoke. The test jerusalem artichoke variety was Qingyu 1. Results showed that nutrition concentration in each organ of jerusalem artichoke generally decreased with growing; absorption rate of nutrition consistently showed a double-peak curve; the order of total nutrition accumulation was N P K. Nutrition was mainly contained in stems and leaves before tubers formed. Nutrition distribution rate in leaves was decreasing from tuber forming to first expansion period, while was increasing in tubers. Phosphorus and potassium in stems showed a single-peak curve, nutrition distribution rate in stems and leaves decreased rapidly while it increased in tubers after tuber expanded.
