Effects of transformation promoter on fermentation of chicken manure compost

  • Aerobium were added to the compost using chicken manure and wheat straw as raw materials. Effects of transformation promoter on the chicken manure compost fermentation were investigated. The results show that temperature of the compost is increased at the early composting stage by adding the transformation promoter, and temperature can reach to over 70°C, while the temperature is rapidly decreased at the late fermentation stage, and indicate the high temperature might speed up the fermentation process. Seed germination index(GI) of the treatment with inoculation of transformation promoter is about 80% after 20 days of composting. Compared to the control, there is a 4.3% increase of nitrogen content, and a 3.0% decrease of water content of the compost. With regarding to the maturity parameters such as temperature, C/N, GI, there is more than 5 day composting time reduction in the treatments with inoculation of transformation promoter. Our study suggests that the addition can reduce the adverse effects of material on GI, shorten composting time significantly, and further accelerate water volatilization of compost material. Meanwhile, contents of inorganic nutrients are relatively increased; therefore, the quality of chicken manure compost is improved.
