Inhibitory activity against soil pathogenic fungi of kelp residue as additive in microbial fertilizer

  • The inhibitory activity of kelp residue soil against pathogenic fungi was investigated with pot experiment. One strain of Aspergillus parasiticus was used, and the inhibitory activity of soil leachate against pathogenic fungi A. parasiticus was determined using the tip-culture method. The results show that the soil inhibitory activity is significantly increased when the solid fermentation microbial fertilizer containing kelp residue is applied. Compared with the CK treatment, the soil inhibitory activity treated with the kelp residue solid fermentation microbial fertilizer is increased by 37.67%. Therefore, the kelp residue microbial fertilizer can be used as soil additives to improve soil inhibitory activity against pathogenic fungi which is useful to cultivate specifically disease suppressive soil.
