The boron deficiency symptoms, the release of ethylene, and IAA content of cucumber at different time after boron deficiency treatment were studied with solution culture The results showed that the young leaf of the cucumber began to take on boron deficiency symptoms after 5 days boron deficiency treatment; and at the same time, the release of the ethylene also began to increase But the content of IAA in leaves decreased after 3 days boron deficiency treatment, which happened before the appearance of boron deficiency symptoms The content of IAA in the tip of stem didn't increase till 6 days treated The unbalance of IAA contents between leaf and stem tip might be the cause of boron deficiency symptoms
