Abstract
The absorbability and distributions of Na+, K+, Ca2+ and Cl- in different organs of two muskmelon varieties, Huanghemi and Baishami, were investigated under NaCl stress in artificially controlled conditions. The results indicated that Na+ and Cl- contents in different organs increased quickly as the severity of NaCl stress rose. However, K+ content in different organs decreased. Ca2+ content also decreased in leaves, but it increased in roots. Under NaCl stress,Na+/K+ ratio was enhanced in different organs and Na+/Ca2+ ratio was enhanced in leaves. As NaCl concentration increase, SK、Na and SCa、Na decreased gradually. The degree of increase in Na+ and Cl- and the degree of decrease in K+and Ca2+ were slower in different organs of Huanghemi than those of Baishami under NaCl stress. Effects of NaCl stress on ability of selection and transportation of K+ and Ca2+ were less in Huanghemi than in Baishami. The salt tolerance of Huangheni was stronger than Baishami.
