SEVERAL CONSIDERATIONS IN KINETIC RESEARCH ON NUTRIENTS UPTAKE BY PLANTS

When ion depletion technique is used to determine kinetic parameter in nutrients uptake by plants, limitations and errons may occur from: 1) calculation of the parameters, 2) Initial concentration of studied nutrients in solution, 3) degree of starvation of plants in precultur of plants, 4) solution pH change during nutrients uptake, 5) ratio of culture solution volume to plant weight, 6) the unit of the Imax, 7) the interpretation and application of the parameters. Problems and possible solutions associated with these limitations were discussed in details.
