Effect of drought and boron interaction on nutrition of oil rape

  • Solution culture experiment was conducted in 1998. The results indicated that the total nitrogen of rape increased under drought while the ratio of protein nitrogen to total nitrogen declined. Drought could also bring about the decrease of B concentration. The activities of POD, CAT, SOD which belonged to the protective enzyme system of oil rape declined because of drought, and the content of MDA increased, so did the membrane permeability in roots. On the other hand, the amount of osmotic matter such as Ca2+, proline, soluble sugar increased under drought treatment. The results also indicated that rape under B?deficient nutrition was more sensitive to drought than B?sufficient rape, and proper application of boron could relieve the hurt of drought.
