The contents, forms and distribution of sulfur in soils of Hebei

  • The study showed that the average content of total sulfur in Hebei soils was 250 1mg/kg and the variance range was 50~940mg/kg The highest one was swamp soil and the lowest one was gray soil if it was expressed in soil types The average content of available sulfur in Hebei soils was 46.1mg/kg The highest one was swamp soil and the lowest one was chestnut drab soil Organic sulfur was the main form in Hebei soils It was the 81.6%, the other was inorganic sulfur The highest content of inorganic sulfur in soil type was swamp soil (101.4mg/kg) and the lowest content of it in soil type was gray forest soil (7.2mg/kg) The same thing was took place for organic sulfur The main effective factors for soil total sulfur were the contents of soil organic, CEC and soil calcium carbonate About 20.4% soil was deficiency of sulfur The sulfur deficiency soil types were chestnut drab soil, chestnut soil, meadow soil and brow earth Also the sulfur deficient soil in north of Hebei was more serious than that in south of Hebei According to the content of soil available sulfur, five areas were divided in Hebei
