Yield and quality of different soybean varieties as affected by different phosphorus supplies

  • Three soybean varieties of different genotypes widely planted in Heilongjiang Province, Dongnong 42 (high protein variety), Hefeng 25 (middle variety) and Dongnong 46 (high oil variety), were used in this study to determine the impact of different phosphorus rates on their yield and quality characteristics. The soybeans were planted in pots and fertilized with 0.033 g of N and K2O per kg soil, at the same time, four levels of phosphorous treatments were applied, including P1、P2、P3 and P4 (i.e., 0、0.033、0.067 and 0.100 g of P2O5 per kg soil). The results showed that there were significant differences among these three genotypes. The highest single plant yield and protein content were obtained at P3 treatment with Dongnong 42 and Hefeng 25 and at P2 treatment with Dongnong 46. The highest fat content was at P4 treatment. At the same P treatment, the order of protein content was Dongnong 42Hefeng 25Dongnong 46, and the order of fat content was Dongnong 46Hefeng 25Dongnong 42.
