Effect of water and nitrogen nutrition on nitrogen absorption of rice

  • A solution cultivation experiment was carried out to study the growth of rice seedling under simulated water stress condition (5%) and the effects of mixed nitrogen nutrition with different ratios of NH4+-N/NO3--N (100/0, 75/25, 50/50, 25/75, 0/100) on nitrogen uptake of rice in water stress condition (5%PEG). The results showed that the responses of different NH4+-N/NO3--N ratios to the growth of rice seedling varied under simulating water stress. The absorption of NH4+-N and NO3--N changed significantly under simulated water stress condition. Compared with non-stress condition, rice took up more NO3--N under simulated water stress condition.
