  • Zinc deficiency and drought are two major factors limiting crop growth and development in calcareous soils of North China.We reviewed some possible mechanisms of soil zinc supply and plant Zn uptake under drought stress,such as the transformation of various forms of soil Zn,Zn movement in rhizsophere,plant root morphology and Zn uptake,Zn translocation and plant requriments.Zinc nutrition status may influence plant water utilization and adaptability to dmught stress through influencing stomatl opening and closure,reactive oxygen matoblism and zinc finger protein production in plants.
